About

Practising Hospitality is a Christian blog by Calum and Alice Henderson. In this space we write about Christian hospitality, together with what we serve on the table.

This started purely as a hospitality blog, and it’s heart remains about hospitality. There are three main objectives that we want to practise through this blog.

Learning Hospitality

We are definitely not experts on hospitality. But we are completely passionate about it. Our hope is for this blog to be a place where we (us and you) can learn more about what hospitality is and how to be good at being hospitable in line with what the Bible says about hospitality.

Living Hospitality

Romans 12:13 says “Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.” Our desire is that this call will be evident in every stage of our lives. We hope that this blog will help us live out hospitable Christian lives.

Loving Hospitality

We love opening our home to others. We hope this blog will foster a deep love for hospitality in ourselves and you who come along for the ride with us.

We also write a lot about food and it’s place in being hospitable.

This blog is going to be written from a Christian perspective, if you’re not a Christian, you can still join us for the ride. If you want you can find out more about what God has done here.
